The physical or mental limitations of another may give rise to the court appointment of a conservator, which is the title of a protector appointed to manage the financial affairs and/or daily life of another. A conservatorship may be needed because an individual with developmental disabilities has reached the age of adulthood, or because an adult is no longer able to handle his or her personal or financial affairs.
